STUDY REPORT Project Business in the Age of AI: Future Competences, Changing Roles and Development Needs

Project business is entering a new phase of development. For several decades, project management has been recognized as a key organizational capability for implementing strategy, delivering transformation, managing innovation, and creating value in complex environments. Today, this capability is being reshaped by artificial intelligence. AI is no longer a distant technological promise. It is increasingly becoming part of the everyday reality of project, program, and portfolio management.

The study report conducted by Alma Mater Europaea university provides empirical evidence from the German project management community and contributes to a growing international discussion on the future of project business in the age of AI.
